British thermal units are called BTUs, the number of BTUs depend upon the size of one room. Generally an air condition has 12,000 BTUs for a room of 400 square feet.

2. How long can an air conditioner last?

It depends on the use, if one does not use the air conditioner 24 hours day, then it will last longer.

3. What are some tips about maintenance?

In order to maintain a good running AC, one should clean the air filters in every 2 months.

4. How can I decrease the electric bill?

Some simple steps to keep costs down are to leave the thermostat set to a moderate temperature, clean the filters often, and make sure that your house is properly insulated.
